A movement is born to let the softest voices be heard.

Being shy or introverted is not something to be perceived as a deficiency in anyone. Not even with yourself.
Yet, the world seems to increasingly favor those who are loud, extroverted in nature and those who insist on being noticed and heard. Often the best of ideas are lost because the persons who conceived them were hesitant to present them at the opportune moment only because they were shy. Shyness and introversion are personal traits, often misjudged by parents, siblings, friends, teachers, classmates and bosses. This misguided perception and treatment of shy, soft-spoken and introverted people by the world needs to change. softestVOICES is a movement started by Marsha Pinto. Marsha was a very brilliant student. However, she was constantly sidelined or labeled as the wallflower in school only because she wouldn’t speak up. This also made her a subject of bullying by not just her classmates, but also some of her teachers. Marsha was often discouraged by those around her who wanted her to believe that she would never be successful in life if she didn’t speak up or demand attention like other loud and extroverted kids. Marsha was inspired by the stories of many celebrities and leaders who also began as soft-spoken and shy individuals but later made it big in their lives. Marsha took up the challenge to prove the world wrong… and she did in many ways. But Marsha didn’t want to just rise above it all and leave the rest behind. She took it upon herself to bring about change in this world. That’s when Marsha founded the softestVOICES movement, with the sole aim of changing the way the world judges and treats the soft-spoken, shy and introverted people. |
